Tender Estimator

Job Description:

• Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine project scope and requirements.

• Perform precise quantity take-offs for all civil work items.

• Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.

• Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates and comprehensive bid proposals.

• Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Maintain and update a comprehensive database of unit rates and historical project data.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to validate estimates and clarify requirements.

• Assess project risks for tenders and incorporate appropriate contingencies.

• Support contract negotiations by providing detailed cost breakdowns.

• Ensure all estimation activities comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulations.

• Prepare and present clear estimation reports to management for review and approval.

• Stay updated on market trends, technologies, and pricing to enhance estimation accuracy.

Required skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.

• Proven experience in civil construction tender estimation, cost control, and quantity surveying.

• Strong proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

• Expert-level proficiency in MS Excel for complex calculations and data analysis.

• Familiarity with industry-standard estimation or BIM software is a strong advantage.

• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with high accuracy.

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project processes.

• Knowledge of local building codes and tendering procedures in India.

• Effective communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder collaboration.
