QA Engineer & Tester

Job Description:

Role overview

You will own product quality end to end: designing test cases and scenarios, testing new features by hand, and setting up and running the automation suite that lets us ship fast with confidence. Our customers act on our data, so accuracy and reliability are non-negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Test design: Review requirements early and write test plans, test scenarios and test cases with clear steps, data and expected results.
• Logistics edge cases: Cover time zones across ports, transshipments, vessel changes, missing carrier data, LCL/FCL flows and invalid container or BL numbers.
• Manual testing: Run functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, cross-browser and UAT testing, including map views and tracking pages.
• Notifications: Verify email updates and exception alerts end to end — trigger, recipient, content, links and rendering.
• Automation: Set up and own the UI and API automation framework (e.g. Playwright with TypeScript) and build maintainable smoke and regression suites.
• CI/CD: Run automated tests on every pull request and release, and keep them fast, stable and well reported.
• API and data: Test REST APIs behind Kong (auth, errors, rate limits, schemas) and validate data in MongoDB and Supabase.
• Performance: Run baseline load tests on tracking and notification services.
• Defects and releases: Log clear, reproducible bugs, track them to closure and own release sign-off.
• Collaboration: Work with developers and product in agile sprints, using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) to speed up test work.

Must-have qualifications

• 4–5 years in QA for web or SaaS products, with 2+ years of hands-on automation.
• Strong at writing test plans, scenarios and test cases from user stories.
• Solid manual testing across functional, regression, exploratory and cross-browser testing.
• Playwright, Cypress or Selenium with JavaScript or TypeScript, including setting up a framework.
• API testing with Postman/Newman or similar tools.
• Working knowledge of MongoDB queries and basic SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins), Git, and Jira or a test management tool.
• Clear written and spoken English; B.E., B.Tech, MCA or equivalent.

Good to have

• Logistics, freight, EXIM or shipment-tracking domain knowledge.
• Ability to read Go code and run Go tests.
• Email testing tools (Mailtrap, Mailosaur) and performance tools (k6, JMeter).
• Visual regression, contract testing or basic security testing.
• ISTQB certification.
