Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Material Preparation: Measure, layout, cut, saw, grind, and shape raw stock (steel, aluminum, or stainless steel) according to project specifications.
- Welding & Joining: Perform MIG, TIG, stick, or arc welding to fuse metal components with strong, clean, and seamless bonds.
- Assembly & Fit-Up: Bolt, rivet, tack-weld, or clamp individual pieces together to build sub-assemblies or complete structural frameworks.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, measurements, and welding symbols.
- Equipment Operation: Operate shop machinery such as lathes, drills, press brakes, grinders, and CNC cutting tools.
- Quality Control & Inspection: Check finished dimensions against tolerances, inspect welds for defects or cracking, and clean/deburr finished parts.
- Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace, inspect welding gear and power tools daily, and follow all workshop safety guidelines (PPE, fire safety, ventilation).
